Rheatta Petty graduated (a long time ago!) from Central Methodist University in Missouri with a degree in K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music. She taught in Missouri for 4 years before moving back to her native Tennessee. She taught middle school music in Murfreesboro for 6 years and then worked as a church musician while her sons were small. She has been at Pegram Elementary since 2011 and loves teaching elementary Music!
While her primary instrument is her voice, she also plays recorder and piano and has been a handbell ringer for 30 years. Rheatta sings with the South Cheatham Choral Society and the KSUMC choir. She is currently brushing up her guitar and ukulele skills. Reading, gardening, cooking, and spelling and pronouncing her name take up most of her spare time.
